When Will Your Resolution Become a Habit?

We're are a couple weeks into the New Year -- how are those New Years resolutions going?

I'm not typing this with a smirk on my face, I'm serious. I love New Years resolutions (I think I'm the only one). It's a great excuse to examine what is lacking and make it better. Just making a resolution can make you feel better -- going through with it is another challenge, though.

I can't tell you how to accomplish your particular resolution, but what I can say is that it's going to be easier than you think to achieve your goal in 2019 by realizing the actions you have to remind yourself to do now will be a habit by March.

Yep, a study found it takes 66 days on average to turn a resolution into a habit.

So, will you have lost 60 pounds by March? No. But the actions you're taking now will soon become so much apart of your life that you won't have to constantly remind yourself to not eat a doughnut for breakfast.

Will you be able to run a half-marathon in two months? No. But pounding the pavement, even if it's just a mile now, will be second nature in a couple months. You'll actually miss the run when you don't get it in.

See what I'm saying?

Baby steps now become habits in a couple months. YOU CAN DO IT!
